Three themes dominate the WordPress real estate market, and most comparison guides are written for an American audience. This one is not. Here is how the three compare when your clients are in Europe, your buyers pay with iDEAL or Bancontact, and MLS feeds are not part of your world.

The three contenders
Houzez, by FaveThemes, is the best-selling real estate theme on ThemeForest with over 55,000 sales and a 4.84 rating. It is a complete platform: listings, advanced search, agent and agency profiles, a built-in customer relationship manager, frontend submission and a membership and payment system.
WP Residence has around 32,000 sales and has invested heavily in builder tools. Its standout feature is MLS integration, connecting to more than 800 RESO-compliant feeds in the United States and Canada, importing listings into WordPress and syncing them hourly.
RealHomes, by InspiryThemes, has over 33,000 sales and is the friendliest of the three to set up. One-click demo import, a clean admin panel, three distinct design styles and a large set of Elementor widgets. It also bundles its premium add-ons, including a currency switcher and CRM, rather than selling them separately.
All three are one-time purchases in the same price range, sold on ThemeForest, and all three are actively maintained.
The question that decides it for most European agencies
Here is where the usual comparison stops being useful.
The single biggest differentiator between WP Residence and the others, in almost every guide you will read, is MLS and IDX integration. That is genuinely excellent work, and if you operate in North America it may well decide your choice on its own.
In Europe, it is close to irrelevant. There is no equivalent of the North American MLS system in most European markets. Listings come from your own inventory, from your agents, from partner agencies or from national portals with entirely different arrangements.
So the feature that tops most comparison tables is, for a European agency, a feature you will never switch on. That changes the ranking considerably.
What actually matters in Europe
Strip out MLS and different criteria come to the front.
How well the theme handles a multi-agent or multi-agency structure, because European portals are often collaborative.
Whether it can charge for what you sell, in the way you sell it: membership packages, per-listing fees, featured upgrades.
Whether the payment side supports the methods your market actually uses, which is where all three themes have the same gap and where the differences in fixing it are large.
And how much of the platform is included rather than assembled, because a small agency does not want to maintain a stack of add-ons.
How the three compare on those points
For multi-agent structures, Houzez is the strongest of the three. Agencies contain agents, every listing links to the right person and the right team, and frontend submission lets each of them manage their own properties without touching your admin. WP Residence handles agents and developers well too. RealHomes is capable but leans more towards the single agency or small team.
For monetisation, Houzez has the most complete built-in system: membership packages with limits and durations, per-listing payments and featured upgrades, all native to the theme. RealHomes bundles payment gateways into its add-ons. WP Residence supports memberships as well.
For ease of setup, RealHomes wins comfortably. If you want a good-looking site running this weekend with the least fuss, it is the sensible pick.
For raw feature depth and long-term flexibility, Houzez and WP Residence are ahead, and which of the two you prefer often comes down to whether you value the MLS pipeline or the membership system more.
The gap all three share
None of the three ships with European local payment methods.
Houzez supports PayPal, Stripe, 2Checkout and Bank Transfer, and its own documentation states that recurring billing works only with PayPal and Stripe. The others rely on similar global processors or on WooCommerce.
That is a real problem in Europe. Around 71 percent of Dutch online payments go through iDEAL. Bancontact handles about 64 percent of Belgian ones. Polish buyers reach for BLIK, Swiss buyers for TWINT, Italian buyers for Satispay or BANCOMAT Pay. A checkout offering only cards asks a large share of your audience to pay in a way they do not normally pay.
Baymard Institute measures average cart abandonment at just over 70 percent, and roughly 13 percent of that traces directly to a missing preferred payment method. That is not a rounding error on a membership package or a featured listing fee.
So the practical question is not which theme has European payments built in, because none of them do. It is which theme gives you the cleanest route to adding them.
Why that tips the balance towards Houzez
Because Houzez has the largest ecosystem of the three, purpose-built plugins exist for exactly this gap.

If you are a European agency or portal, especially one that wants to charge agents, landlords or private sellers, choose Houzez. The membership system is the most complete, the multi-agent structure is the strongest, and the payment gap that all three share has the cleanest solution here.
That last point is the one we would emphasise. Every theme in this comparison is good. The difference, in Europe, is what happens at the checkout.
